Today, the New York Post revealed that Michelle Trachtenberg has passed away. The beloved actress, best known for her roles in Buffy The Vampire Slayer, Gossip Girl, and more was just 39 years old. Her untimely death has come as a shock to her supporters. They're currently flooding social media with uplifting messages about all that she managed to accomplish in her life, despite it getting cut short.
"This is heartbreaking. I grew up watching Michelle in so many films and tv series. This is so sudden," one fan writes on X. "This is so hard to read, she was so young and had so much life left to live. rest in peace you beautiful queen and forever icon [heart emoji]. Thank you for everything you’ve given us, you were truly a staple part of so many people’s lives," another says. At the time of writing, Trachtenberg's cause of death has yet to be confirmed.

A source recently spoke with TMZ, however, telling the outlet that police and paramedics had responded to a call about a woman in cardiac arrest. Sadly, Trachtenberg was found unresponsive, and was pronounced dead on the scene. Another source told the outlet that she had undergone a liver transplant within the past year. At the time of writing, authorities reportedly believe she died of natural causes. Just last week, she spent time with friends at Sartiano's in New York City.
Leading up to Trachtenberg's passing, she sparked some concern among her supporters, who felt as though she looked unwell in her latest social media posts. She quickly came to her own defense, suggesting that any changes in her appearance were simply a result of aging naturally. "Explain to me how I look sick," she said at the time. "Did you lose a calendar and not realize I’m not 14. I’m 38. How sad for you to leave such a comment.” In another post, she said she had not undergone plastic surgery, describing herself as "happy and healthy."
