Ten people were injured during the shooting, including Rob49, who is now speaking about the ordeal.

It was exciting for French Montana as he celebrated the release of Coke Boys 6, but it was a harrowing evening for all attendees. French was said to have filmed a music video in or near The Licking in Miami Gardens when the incident occurred. The rapper was captured enjoying himself with his crew before a hail of gunfire rang out on the crowd. Ten people were injured in the chaos, but thankfully, everyone walked away alive.

Rapper Rob49 was one of those who took a hit, and he detailed what happened with HipHopDX. He refuted claims that they were shooting a video and said it was a celebration of their collaboration, "Igloo." Rob added, “We were just chilling, and we just wanted to perform the song and sh*t and celebrate because it was dropping that night. So we just went to turn up with him. I saw [reports] that it was a music video and I was like, alright, I’m not even about to clear that up.”

French Montana Releases A Statement

There was growing concern for Rob49 after it was shared he was one of the victims. However, it was quickly noted that he was recovering well; weeks later, he returned to Instagram. The rapper touted his arm in a sling, but he was in good spirits and with friends. Meanwhile, French Montana addressed the incident in a statement on social media.

“Last night, I was in Miami celebrating the release of my CB6 mixtape w/ friends at a local restaurant,” Frech wrote in January. “We unfortunately were at the wrong place, at the wrong time when an incident took place that left people hurt. Our thoughts & prayers are w/ the victims & families at this time.”

Heavy Game Has Nerve Damage

Another rapper on the scene was Heavy Game, and in a recent freestyle with Supa Cindy of 99 Jamz, he detailed his ordeal. Heavy was reportedly shot in the chest and armpit, and he also had an arm in a sling. He spit bars about hearing the shots ring out, seeing his friends gasp for breath, and the ongoing recovery process. It is unclear if police have any suspects.
