Police have yet to name a suspect, but a neighbor gave insight into what occurred.

Details regarding an incident at Joe Mixon's residence are scarce, but outlets are delivering information in real time. The Cincinnati Bengals running back isn't a stranger to legal trouble, but some altercation at or near his home turned the location into a crime scene. According to NBC News, yesterday (March 6), police were dispatched to the scene a little before 8:30 p.m. It was there that officers found an injured child.

The outlet further reported the unnamed minor was quickly sent to the city's children's hospital. The child's injuries were also listed as non-life-threatening; however, the extent of those wounds is unclear. At the moment, speculation about the 26-year-old NFL star's involvement in the case has run rampant as police search for answers.

Several reports state that someone called the authorities after shots were fired at Mixon's home. A search warrant was said to have been executed and police "were able to gather evidence that will be part of this active investigation." A reporter for FOX 19 News tweeted: "Neighbor of Joe Mixon says shots were fired at high school teens who were playing a game of 'NERF wars' outside a home next door to where Mixon lives and that the shots came from his house. Unclear who fired the gun."

Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office released a statement saying, "Our detectives will continue to review this evidence diligently and conduct interviews." Last month, Mixon's name and in headlines after he was accused of pointing a gun at a woman. It was also alleged that he threatened the purported victim, but later, the charges against him were dismissed. The residence in this incident is where that encounter with the woman reportedly occurred. It has been stated that the case is being reassigned, but the current status hasn't been updated.

Who Fired The Shots?

Again, details are filtering in but seem muddled. It is unclear if Mixon was occupying the residence at the time, as is his relationship with the injured minor. Mixon has yet to release a statement about what happened, and the public awaits authorities to name a suspect.
