Chri$ Born is much a producer as he is a rapper, and his new record makes that very clear. It takes a good minute-and-a-half for Born's vocals to even enter the song. "What can I say / Barely wanna talk / Gotta let the beat speak." Like the best producer-rappers, Born puts as much emphasis on his instrumental arrangements as his voice, and it gives him the freedom to explore some unconventional song structure.
