Kirko Bangz isn't the first Houston artist to make a song about Codeine, but his new collaboration with Sledgren applies the subject to a tender, but very slippery ballad, making sure to do something interesting with the familiar subject. Some acoustic guitar chords greet a sparkling synth backdrop, driven by a buzzing bassline, constantly pared down to its essential elements only to be built up again.
It's quite a ride, and makes for one of the most impressive tracks from Kirko in a minute, and with Bryson Tiller all over the radio right now, we don't see why this couldn't be a gigantic hit. It'll appear on his upcoming project Playa Made, which will coincide with a tour beginning February 25th.
