Lil D didn't provide much information about himself, but it's clear that the rapper is from Houston (even before he gives the city a shoutout). "Codeine" borrows the siren sound popularized by 808 Mafia on Future's "Commas," but like the rest of the track, it's filtered through Texas, slowed down to a crawl, and pitched down as a result. D comes off as H-Town's answer to Future, and that's definitely something we can get behind.
