Why We Like Devaine: Devaine has a notable old-school flavor to his music. The jazzy, boom bap production he favors brings back memories of A Tribe Called Quest, and Common's early material. Dev seems to shy away from current trends, sticking with a classic sound that does his laid back, but very capable delivery well. The Toronto emcee brings an interesting story oriented approach to his raps, making him a very engaging personality. The rapper's narrative flows and complimentary classic production land Devaine in our top 4. Artist Bio:Devaine (born June, 1990), is a Canadian recording artist from Toronto, Ontario. Inspired heavily by artists: Tupac, Nas, Jay-z and Rakim, he is considered a "hip hop talent that does not base his style off of mainstream trends." His sound is soulful and classic, with lyrics that are witty and sharp, producing a contrast that works flawlessly. Unsigned, he is another dreamer looking for a big break. College graduate and co-founder of the Yacht Club Media Group, Devaine is an artist hoping to bring back the true sound of hip hop. His first single, 'Life in Stereo', prodcued by Beatsofreen, from the unreleased mix tape, "SYNESTHESIA," depicts a story of a young man struggling to live his life through legitimate means.
