As great as Mick Jenkins is, he's not generally heralded for his pop sensibility. This is what made "Your Love" such a surprise. The record sounds like a modern take on an early 00s Pharrell-penned hit, and it weirdly fits Jenkins perfectly.
What isn't so much a surprise is that its the record from Wave[s] that's getting the MTV Jams treatment, premiering on the network earlier today. The clip is as much a nostalgic throwback as the music itself, and proves that Jenkins doesn't have to take himself too seriously.
