Janelle Monáe recently spoke about her "Twilight Zone"-like life under quarantine and shared that her self-care routine includes a healthy sex-life.

If there's a topic that this generation can't get enough of, it's self-care. What that looks like to each individual depends on what soothes their soul, so no one way to practice self-care will exactly mirror someone else's. During this COVID-19 quarantine, there has been an increase of visibility as it pertains to self-care memes, words of advice, and videos of self-help gurus circulating throughout the internet. Singer Janelle Monáe recently chatted with Hello Beautiful about how she's been dealing with life indoors and dropped off her methods of self-care.

“I don’t know who I am right now. I don’t know what time it is. I don’t know what universe I am in. It feels like I’m in the Twilight Zone,” she joked. During this quarantine, many people are coping with new or returning stressors and anxieties. Janelle Monáe was asked about her self-care routine. “I think a healthy sex life is important," she said before pausing for a brief moment. "Healthy. Whatever that means to you. I believe in the power of laughter. I believe that laughing—before you laugh, you don't know that you need laughter, but when you're in it, it can change your whole attitude."

Elsewhere, Janelle speaks about her role as Jackie in the Amazon Prime series Homecoming. “I was scared of Jackie, very scared of her," Janelle admitted about portraying the character. "We’re not that much alike. You find the character waking up in a boat disorientated — I mean right now, because of this pandemic I am also waking up every morning trying to uncover the mystery of what the f*ck is going on. We’re on the journey of self-discovery with her as she tries to unpack what happened to her." Homecoming will be available on May 22. Watch Janelle Monáe's interview below.
