Seigfried & Roy
Roy Horn was one half of Las Vegas's dynamic duo "Seigfried & Roy," and it's been announced that the 75-year-old passed away from COVID-19.

One of Las Vegas's staples was the Siegfried & Roy show. The pair of entertainers were known for their magic act that included dangerous wild animals and stunts that amazed millions of audience members over the 40 years they were in operation. Their show was shut down back in 2003 when Roy Horn was mauled by a white tiger, causing the beloved entertainer's spine to be severed. Still, Roy Horn and Siegfried Fischbacher helped pave the way for the flashy Sin City performances that many hopefuls aspire to today.

Since the accident, Seigfried and Roy reportedly performed only once more, but Roy Horn spent his days traveling the world and spending time with his loved ones. The 75-year-old entertainer recently made headlines after it was revealed that he'd contracted COVID-19, and while fans hoped for a speedy recovery, Seigfried shared in a statement that his partner had passed away.

"Roy was a fighter his whole life including during these final days," Seigfried said. "I give my heartfelt appreciation to the team of doctors, nurses and staff at Mountain View Hospital who worked heroically against this insidious virus that ultimately took Roy's life." He added, "Today, the world has lost one of the greats of magic, but I have lost my best friend. From the moment we met, I knew Roy and I, together, would change the world. There could be no Siegfried without Roy, and no Roy without Siegfried." We offer our condolences.
