Back in March, Lakeith Stanfield shared "Fast Life," the lead single from his forthcoming project Self Control. Recently, he's followed with his second single, "Birds" featuring Git, and once again, he delivers the song with an accompanying visual. The acclaimed actor operates his music career under the pseudonym Htiekal (often stylized as HTIEKAL) and he's been readying the release of his album that's slated to hit streaming services this year.
Lakeith "Htiekal" Stanfield chatted with GQ about his budding music career and how he draws inspiration to create music. "The biggest inspiration I find is just inside. Viewing inside, and turning sh*t," he said. "Looking in there and seeing what's going on with a lot of the many conflicts I have—love and trust and lies and deceit and everything I might be going through. That's where the sauce is at."
