Idris Elba
The actor has had a long-running music career that dates back over a decade.

He's a hit on the big and small screens, he's made waves as an international DJ, and now Idris Elba is back once again showing off his rap skills. For those that don't know, Elba has been dropping bits and pieces of new music throughout his career. This latest video, which he teased on Instagram, is a clip of his verse on a track titled "Boasty" which dropped in January. The single features Wiley, Stefflon Don, Sean Paul, and Elba who spits his verse using Jamaican Patois.

Yes, Elba is a phenomenal actor, but his ties to music run deep. In 2010, Elba linked up with rapper Shadow and released the single (and accompanying music video) for their song "Hold On" produced by 9th wonder. The actor released an EP Kings Among Kings in 2009 and then another,  High Class Problems Vol. 1, the following year. For the second, Elba received a Billboard Music Awards nomination. In 2014 he joined forces with K. Michelle to produce her VH1 special, "The Rebellious Soul Musical," but the actor hasn't had a feature on a released track since 2016 on Macklemore and Ryan Lewis' "Dance Off."

Fans should expect much more from Elba as a rap artist, considering he launched his own record label last year. He's also on the lineup for Coachella 2019 where he's set to perform as a DJ. However, if he just happens to grab the mic and slide some new music in there, fans certainly won't be mad at him for it.
