Melly is currently in jail on murder charges.

Rappers Yung Bans and YNW Melly collaborated on the track "Gutta B*tch," and as the latter sits in jail awaiting trial for murder, Bans is making sure to give Melly's brother a platform to showcase his skills. The Rolling Loud festival featured a number of memorable performances, but it ended up being quite the cluster of controversy. Lil Wayne canceled his performance because he refused to be policed by security, while Kodak Black was arrested for falsifying information on gun applications. There were rumors of shots being fired just hours into the first day resulting in a stampede of hundreds of people storming the exits.

NBA Youngboy was shot at near the Trump Tower where he and his entourage were staying. One person lost their life and two others were injured, including the rapper's girlfriend. The chaotic events attached to the festival didn't place it in the finest of lights, but one moment that many fans enjoyed was seeing YNW Melly's little brother take to the stage with Yung Bans. Yet, what he performed raised eyebrows.

The young boy rapped along to Melly's single "Murder on My Mind," singing the lyrics: He grabbed me by my hands and said he was afraid to die, I told him it's too late, my friend, it's time to say goodbye, And he died inside my arms, blood all on my shirt. The brothers are close and Melly has shared videos of the pair dancing and rapping together, however they have been separated as Melly sits in jail. A few weeks ago it was reported that the rapper could be facing the death penalty if he's proven guilty in the double murder of his two friends.
