The actor will be promoting his latest Netflix project.

Fans are still rooting for him to suit up and one day become James Bond, but until that glorious time comes, they can catch Idris Elba hosting Saturday Night Live. Elba will make his SNL debut on March 9, joining the funny cast on their 44th season. The musical guest for his episode has also been announced, another debut appearance this time by 21-year-old Grammy-nominated singer Khalid.

Still riding high off being named People magazine's "Sexiest Man Alive," Elba's SNL guest appearance will hopefully help promote his forthcoming Netflix comedy Turn Up Charlie, a series that hits the streaming network of March 15. Turn Up Charlie is described as being about a "struggling DJ and eternal bachelor Charlie is given a final chance at success when he reluctantly becomes a manny to his famous best friend's problem-child daughter, Gabby." Of course, Elba plays the title role of Charlie, however, the actor's real-life second career as a successful DJ is a far cry from any struggling artist.

Will you be tuning in to check out Elba and Khalid on SNL?
