He says his words were twisted.

Back in March, Nav netted himself his first No. 1 album when Bad Habits reached the top of the Billboard 200 chart. The Canadian rapper has been tearing up the charts since signing to XO Records, founded by The Weeknd and his manager Amir "Cash" Esmailian. Recently, Nav did an interview with Pitchfork and a few of his responses left fas puzzled.

When asked about his newfound fame, Pitchfork claims the rapper said, "Honestly, I feel like I’m just now starting to get famous. But fame is something I want, it’s a good problem to have. I’m still not there, because when I walk out of f*cking Delilah in L.A. and TMZ will be standing out there with cameras and not even take a picture of me, I get sick. I get in my f*cking Lambo truck right in front of them. All my jewelry on and they don’t even take one picture. But God willing this album will change that because, if they’re taking pics it must mean my album went number one and I’m getting more money."

During his Apple Music Beats 1 interview with Ebro, Nav wanted to clear up a few things about that interview, especially the part where he said he was "sick" because the paparazzi don't notice him. "Honestly, that's not even apart of my lingo," Nav said. "I don't say 'I get sick.' I feel like they twisted it to get a little bit of hype, but really I said I'd be surprised. When I come outside, I'd be surprised. I never said I get sick. Me personally, like I said, I'm a shy guy. I don't like attention that much but at the end of the day if they snap you, that means you're doing something right...or wrong," he said while laughing.

"They stand out there with cameras like this," he said as he makes a motion of a person holding a camera low. "I'd be walking out waiting like oh sh*t, they really don't know. Okay, cool whatever. I'd be surprised, not that I get sick 'cause I know once that attention goes crazy I'm like...I don't know how to act." Ebro asks him if he's ready for when the attention gets more intense and he levels up in stardom. "I'm ready for what comes with success," he responds.

Check out what else Nav said about letting fame get to his head and having Cash reel him back in when his ego got out of control.
