The song is featured on the "Shaft" film's soundtrack.

The classic Shaft theme has received an update as it's been remixed by the Migos' Quavo and his girlfriend Saweetie. The rap couple collaborated on "Too Much Shaft," the leading single from the forthcoming Shaft film. The recreation on the classic movie will hit theaters on Jun 14 and stars Samuel L. Jackson as the title character, while Richard Roundtree, Regina Hall, Method Man, and Jessie T. Usher are also featured in the film.

On "Too Much Shaft," the signature Shaft theme can be heard loud and clear, but it's been jazzed up in order to modernize the beat for audiences. Quavo and Saweetie deliver interesting additions to the song, as the Migos rapper spits two short verses as Saweetie mostly just says "Shaft" throughout the track. It doesn't seem as if this was meant to be a song, per se, as much as it's just meant to be a new take on the theme so it will be nice to hear what the remainder of the Shaft soundtrack will sound like.

Quotable Lyrics

Generation after generation (Woo)
Handle business without hesitating (Hey)
Say the world gon’ change but I’m still waiting
I done ran out, but I’m still patient (Uh)
Who is the man, yeah, with the bands, yeah?
With the plans, yeah? (Who?)
Who they gon’ call when they come in the bam, yeah? (Brrrr)
(Shaft)
