Depp has filed a $50 million defamation lawsuit against his ex-wife.

Buckle up, because the Johnny Depp and Amber Heard drama just took a turn that no one expected. Previously, actress Amber Heard publicly accused her ex-husband Johnny Depp of domestic violence. Two years ago, a judge even granted her a domestic violence restraining order against Depp after her lawyers presented "photos showing various bruises...she claims Depp inflicted various times during their marriage," according to TMZ. Just this week it was announced that Depp filed a $50 million lawsuit against Heard for defamation, specifically citing Heard's Washington Post op-ed piece where she laid out specifics about being abused by a partner. She never named Depp, but the implication threw the couple's relationship into headlines.

More details of Depp's lawsuit are coming to light, and surprisingly tech entrepreneur Elon Musk's name has been thrown into the mix. Security guard Alex Romero testified, under oath, that while Depp was away filming one of his many Pirates of the Caribbean movies, he saw Musk visiting Heard. In the transcript obtained by The Blast, Romero said a few times a week he buzzed Musk into the building "late at night." He stated Musk's visits would usually be around 11:00 p.m. to midnight, and when Romero would punch out and head home, Musk would still be with Heard.

Romero stated that he even mentioned to his supervisor, “it was really bad that I saw Elon Musk going inside the penthouse when Johnny Depp was not home.” Although he felt uncomfortable with Musk's visits, Romero continued to escort him to Heard's apartment where she lived with Depp. One occasion allegedly came after Depp and Heard had a violent argument where she reportedly threw a vodka bottle at him, causing Depp to undergo surgery to get his finger re-attached.

“Well, she’s a female, he’s a male," Romero said in his transcript. "Both of them by themselves upstairs is, you know, she’s married. I don’t know Elon Musk personally. I don’t know if he’s married or not. I don’t know anything about his personal life." Both Heard and Musk had an on-again-off-again relationship between 2016 and 2017, following both of their breakups from their partners. In late 2018, Heard described her previous relationship with Musk as "beautiful," saying they now have a "beautiful friendship." Meanwhile, Musk's rep issued a statement saying, “Elon and Amber didn’t start seeing each other until May 2016, and even then it was infrequent. They were not on the same continent for most of this time. Their relationship didn’t become romantic until much later.”
