The rapper crafts an album the masses have been waiting for.

Following release delays due to the unexpected deaths of his two good friends Mac Miller and Nipsey Hussle, ScHoolboy Q finally dropped his highly-anticipated project CrasH Talk. The South Central rapper is meticulous when it comes to crafting new music, even opting to toss out two entire albums following Blank Face LP because he considered them to be "trash." The gap between releases made fans chatter about if Q was ever going to come through with a follow-up album, and after listening to CrasH Talk, the public will be happy that Q has chosen quality over quantity for his fifth studio record.

Q has created an eclectic record that effortlessly blends grimy street rap, the bounce of hip hop, and a touch of R&B. He calls on artists including YG, Travis Scott, Ty Dolla $ign, 21 Savage, Kid Cudi, Lil Baby, and 6lack to mold a piece of art that takes unexpected turns on every track. Another artist who had a hand in creating CrasH Talk but isn't featured on the record is Kendrick Lamar. Q explained why his friend has six writing credits on the album.

“He have credits on all my sh*t because I’ll do the lyrics and I do everything, and he’ll hear something [like], 'Drop the beat out hard. Cut this verse off. You did this verse too long,'” Q said. “I used to be his hype man, so I think he just feel like he’s obligated to always help me or some sh*t...He pretty much do all my ad libs and song placements and stuff like that.”
