The track is a bonus feature on "Homecoming: The Live Album."

Beyoncé's love for Frankie Beverly and Maze is real, and she solidified her adoration by covering their 1981 classic hit, "Before I Let Go," a bonus track off of her surprise Homecoming: The Live Album release. Putting her own spin on the record and including other jams in the production (is that Cameo's "Candy" that we hear mixed in there?), Beyoncé modernized the hit while retaining the mellow, groove-like feel of the original. For those that have watched Bey's Netflix Homecoming: A Film By Beyoncé Coachella documentary all the way until the end, they'll find that the singer plays this song during the credits.

It should also be noted that the Knowles-Carters have often referenced this song over the years including back in 2017 when Tina Knowles, Bey's mother, shared a video on social media of herself and Jay Z dancing the electric slide to the original version. Tina also wrote on Instagram back in 2018 that her daughter told her, “I have worked very hard to get to the point where I have a true voice. And at this point in my life and my career I have a responsibility to do what's best for the world and not what is most popular.”

Quotable Lyrics

I pull up to Coachella (pull up)
And boost with the ghost fellas (pull up)
I brought the squad with me (squad)
Black on black bandanas,
Dussé and Champagne (champagne)
I did the damn thing (I did the damn thing)
Dirty Diana (dirty Diana)
Singing and dancing all in the rain
