The rapper's forthcoming album "Vernia" is set to drop this Friday.

Legendary hip hop artist Erick Sermon has been teasing his Vernia record for over a year now, but it looks as if the album will hit the streets his Friday. The EPMD rapper has been in the game for over 30 years and his new single, "My Style," shows both believers and non-believers alike why Sermon is hailed as an icon in hip hop history. He calls on fellow heavy-hitters Raekwon and N.O.R.E. to add verses on the track, and hip hop heads who enjoy soulful beats (courtesy of Boogeyman), witty rhymes, and lyricism will put this one on repeat. Vernia is said to also have features by Method Man, Pharrell Williams, Big K.R.I.T, Styles P, Redman, and others, so this is an album you don't want to miss.

Last year, Sermon called on fans to help him finance the release of Vernia by creating a Kickstarter campaign. The rapper was able to raise over $62,000 and, after a few delays, Sermon updated the page by writing, "HelloKickstarterr supporters, finally the day has come. April 19th, the highly anticipated album Vernia, by Erick Sermon, will be available on all digital platforms. Kickstarter pledges will receive the album 3 days in advance via a zip file. Which will also include the the bonus track as promised. The album release parties will be emailed to those who purchased that reward. We need a list of names in advance for the door entry. All merchandise, Vinyl, CDs and Plaques will be processed and shipped by the end of May."

Quotable Lyrics

This style I rock they understand
Everything I got on now cost a couple of grand
In each pocket I got a couple of bands
Thirty years in the game I got a couple of fans
